The BRITAX MARATHON 70 Convertible Car Seat achieves optimum head safety through the combination of BRITAX SafeCell Technology, integrated steel bars, and a Versa-Tether, which work together to minimize head excursion and reduce the risk of head injury during a frontal impact. The BRITAX MARATHON 70 features technologies that work to minimize injury to your child during a crash from any direction, including both frontal and side impact crashes - the most frequent types of crashes. I bought 4 different seats before this one. This seat fits well in my 2009 subaru outback. Come June, I need to fit this britax marathon, a chicco infant seat and sometimes a 13 year old in the back of my car. The 13 year old is not going to have much room in the center seat but it's do-able for small distances when she has a friend in the car and one of them has to sit in the back with the babies. Wow, this carseat is awesome and Cowmooflauge color is great. The carseat is very very sturdy and well built, we could not find any flaws. We just received it yesterday and it shows a manufacture date of 2/2011. Very new! My daughter so far has tried it out here in the house and loves it (she is 10 months).
